I had an opportunity to witness a krump session at Studio Clout, Atlanta, Georgia on Friday, February 26, 2010.   Krumping is a style of dancing consisting of various chest pops, stomps, and arm swings. It is used to express one’s feelings towards another through dance rather than violence.

Krumping originated in Los Angeles during the 1990s. Unlike other hip-hop dances krumping is rarely choreographed; it is almost entirely freestyle (improvisational) and is danced most frequently in battles or sessions rather than on a stage.

  1. I love the way Tameka captured the essence of the Krump Sessions at Studio Clout. The art of dance is a very important component of our expression as a fine art gallery.
    Thanks for representing us well!
